Volkswagen has revealed the production version of its ID.3 electric car.
The new model, the first from VW's upcoming range of ID electric cars, is launching with a choice of three battery size options.
These are a 45kWh battery, which delivers a range of up to 205 miles up on the WLTP test cycle, a 58kWh battery, which can cover up to 261 miles between charges, and a 77kWh battery with a range of up to 342 miles.
VW says the ID.3 will be able to take on enough electricity in 30 minutes to drive for 180 miles, via 100kW fast charging.
These batteries power a 204hp electric motor.
At launch there are three equipment grades. Entry-level 1st grade features equipment including sat-nav, DAB+, heated seats, a heated steering wheel and 18in alloy wheels.
Equipment with mid-range 1st Plus spec includes a rear camera, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and go, matrix LED headlights and 19in alloys.
Kit with range-topping 1st Max includes an augmented reality head-up display, a Beats sound system, a panoramic roof, 20in alloys, lane keeping and lane change assistance, and wireless smartphone charging.
VW claims that the packaging advantages of having batteries integrated into the car's underbody mean the ID.3 has the exterior dimensions of a small car, but the space inside of a mid-sized model.
UK prices are yet to be announced.
