Orders open for hybrid Citroen C5 Aircross

Date: 14 February 2020   |   Author: Illya Verpraet

Citroen's first hybrid is available to order from today. The C5 Aircross hybrid comes in two equipment grades and costs from £35,275 (P11D) for a Flair model.

That P11D rises to £36,815 for the Flair Plus equipment grade. First deliveries are expected by mid-2020.

The Citroen C5 Aircross combines a 180hp 1.6-litre engine with a 110hp electric motor and a 13.2kWh battery for a system output of 225hp. It's rated at a pure-electric range of 34 miles on the WLTP cycle, with CO2emissions of 32 or 33g/km, dependent on equipment grade. These numbers put it in the 10% BIK tax band from April.

It can be charged either from a domestic plug, from a home wall box or from a public charging point. When charging at 7kW, the C5 Aircross hybrid can be charged from empty in under two hours.

Flair equipment grade offers navigation with a 3-year subscription to live traffic data, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, part leather seats with electric adjustment for the driver's seat, an electric tailgate and 19in wheels.

Citroen has been emphasising comfort in recent years, as opposed to sporty handling. As such, all C5 Aircross Hybrids get 'Advanced Comfort seats' as standard. The hybrid also gets a different rear suspension layout from the petrol and diesel models, which should improve ride comfort.
