Lexus NX gains Premium Sport Edition equipment grade

Date: 25 February 2020   |   Author: Illya Verpraet

Lexus is adding a new mid-range equipment grade for its NX SUV. The new £38,830 Premium Sport Edition plugs the wide gap between the basic NX and the F-Sport.

Premium Sport Edition includes the Premium Pack with synthetic leather seats, keyless entry, a heated steering wheel, power tailgate and wireless smartphone charging.

On top of that it adds 18in wheels, the upgraded, 10.3in infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, auto-dimming mirrors and electric steering wheel adjustment.

The £38,830 on-the-road price means that even if a panoramic roof or special paint finish is added, it doesn't break through the £40,000 VED threshold, unlike the F-Sport, which starts at £42,650.

Like all Lexus cars these days, the NX is a hybrid, combining a 2.5-litre engine and an electric motor for an output of 197hp and a CO2 output of 137g/km, making it still quite BIK-friendly at 31% BIK tax.

The Lexus NX Premium Sport Edition is available to order now, with first deliveries in March.
