Clipper Logistics adopts DAVIS driving licence checking

Date: 07 January 2020   |   Author: Illya Verpraet

Logistics company Clipper Logistics has switched its driving licence checking procedures and processes to Licence Check's DAVIS platform.

The system offers governance and compliance for all drivers and improved corporate visibility of licence checking across the group, risk profiling of all drivers - with those most at risk checked more frequently - and dashboard-style reporting.

It also replaces written driver mandates with electronic versions, which allows checks with the DVLA to be largely automated.

Companies can enter a driver's name and email address into the system, after which the driver is automatically emailed and reminded to provide permission for a check to be carried out. This then allows the DVLA to respond quickly.

In addition, the system can monitor driver behaviour through telematics and manage grey fleet vehicles by verifying vehicle credentials such as road tax and MOT, and enabling the easy upload and storage of key documents.

"The grey fleet module allows us to manage our grey fleet vehicles as efficiently and effectively as we do our owned vehicles and ensures that we are compliant with the provisions of GDPR in terms of the safe and secure storage of sensitive data and vehicles," explained Clipper Logistics's national driver training manager Jon Aspden.
