New range-topping engine for VW T-Cross

Date: 09 January 2020   |   Author: Illya Verpraet

The T-Cross, VW's small SUV, can now be ordered with a 150hp 1.5-litre petrol engine. This range-topping engine is always paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.

With the turbocharged four-cylinder, the T-Cross manages 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds, and returns 44mpg. CO2figures on the WLTP cycle have yet to be announced. The T-Cross range now offers three petrol engine and one diesel.

Only the more expensive SEL and R-Line trim levels can be combined with the 150hp engine, with prices starting at £24,910 in SEL specification, or from £26,810 for the sporty R-Line.

Standard equipment for both trim levels includes front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking, LED headlights and an 8.0-inch infotainment system with navigation.

The R-Line package adds sportier exterior styling, 18in alloy wheels and a 10.25in digital instrument panel.
