More than 1,000 Renault Zoes join subscription service fleet

Date: 22 July 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Renault has received an order for 1,100 electric Zoes from car subscription service Onto.

The order takes the total number of Zoes bought by Onto, formerly known as Evezy, to nearly 1,300, having previously bought 180 of the vehicles when it launched in 2017.

The new order, the first vehicles from which have been delivered, is of Zoes powered by the more powerful 135hp motor option, paired with a 52kWh battery that allows a range of up to 245 miles on the WLTP cycle.

The order, the biggest ever for the Zoe in the UK, is split between Iconic and GT Line equipment grades.

Onto is said to have ordered the new Zoes based on positive customer feedback about the previous generation model, as well as ease of use and high specification.

With many customers being new to EVs, Onto is also said to have been impressed by the Zoe sharing many features with regular petrol or diesel cars, such as a conventional handbrake.

Onto CEO Rob Jolly said: "We are in the midst of a big societal shift which has been further accelerated by the pandemic. Our subscription service offers more freedom to customers when it comes to driving an electric car.

"We know the new Renault Zoe will be great for customers who are ready to experience their first EV.

"The previous generation Zoe has been core to our growth as a business, and we're excited to see the improvements in the new model - with more features, a better range and DC rapid charging."
