The start point for the best source of fleet information

First AFP webinar to discuss Covid-19

Date: 10 July 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The first ever webinar held by the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is to focus on the effects of Covid-19 on the fleet industry,

The webinar, which is open to anyone, will feature deputy chair Stewart Lightbody analysing how the virus has affected the sector, as well as Paul Brown from Stericycle offering a fleet manager view.

AFP chair Paul Hollick said that along with this discussion, the organisation's first major event would also feature a discussion of how the last few months have been used to build its infrastructure.

He said: "Covid-19 has clearly had a dramatic and almost certainly lasting impact on the fleet sector and we will be using the event to examine its effects, how fleet managers have responded in a proactive manner, and the ways in which we see the situation playing out in the future.

"We'll also be detailing the infrastructure that we have created around the AFP, such as the new committees and the training resources available, as well as the developments that we have planned for the organisation as we continue to move forward in the coming months.

"The webinar has been some months in the planning and we're really looking forward to engaging with as many fleet professionals as possible, discussing what are clearly some of the most urgent fleet issues of the moment and swapping best practice ideas on how we are all approaching them."

The webinar will also see the AFP announce the members and adopted aims for its committees on future roads, risk and compliance, and future mobility.

Hollick said: "Some outstanding fleet professionals have agreed to take part and we are confident that these will become important industry forums."

The webinar is being held via Zoom, and delegates can register by emailing the new AFP Administration Centre at administration@theafp.co.uk.
