Jaguar I-Pace gets upgraded tech and faster charging

Date: 23 June 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Jaguar has announced updates including a new infotainment system and faster charging capability for its I-Pace electric car.

The model is the first Jaguar to come with the new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which includes enhanced navigation that can show the driver if nearby charging stations are available or in use, what they cost, and how long it will take to charge.

The navigation system also features self-learning functionality.

Pivi Pro also features a redesigned menu structure, meant to be easier to navigate, while the car also now comes with a dual modem embedded SIM and complimentary 4G data plan.

Over-the-air updates now apply to the infotainment system, and also cover battery management and charging.

Wireless smartphone charging is also now available as an option.

Other new technology with the I-Pace includes a digital rear view mirror, which is optional, and a 3D surround camera system that comes as standard.

In terms of charging, the previously standard 7kW onboard charger has been replaced with an 11kW three-phase unit, capable of adding 33 miles of range per hour using a compatible wallbox.

Cosmetic changes are minor, but include a new grey grille tip finish, new exterior paint options and newly available 19in wheels.

The updated I-Pace is available to order now with prices starting at £65,195.
