Facelifted Suzuki Ignis gets upgraded mild hybrid powertrain

Date: 04 March 2020   |   Author: Illya Verpraet

Suzuki has facelifted its Ignis crossover with updated styling, new exterior colours, and an updated 1.2 engine with mild hybrid assistance.

As before, there's just one engine option, a 1.2-litre four-cylinder with 90hp. Suzuki claims to have improved its efficiency. The mild hybrid system now has a battery that's about three times bigger than before.

With the facelift, both the manual and automatic versions will get the mild hybrid system, whereas only the manual used to get it. The automatic gearbox also changes from a five-speed to a CVT.

Externally, the Ignis gets a revised five-spoke grille and three new paint options: a new ivory, yellow and purple.
