New Skoda Octavia vRS police conversion unveiled

Date: 19 November 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Skoda has revealed a new blue-light version of its Octavia vRS performance model, now available to police fleets.

The fourth-generation Octavia vRS features a 2.0-litre, 245hp petrol engine, allowing acceleration from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, which Skoda says will be of particular interest to rapid response teams.

The blue-light conversion, with a choice of hatchback or estate bodystyles, features LED signal lights built into the front screen, grille, tailgate and number plate, along with a three-tone siren.

In addition, Skoda says its team of converters can provide further modifications to meet the requirements of individual police services and units, with previous examples including integrated ANPR cameras to tackle anti-social and uninsured drivers, and air-conditioned dog kennels for specialist dog handling teams.

The Octavia vRS has launched with the petrol engine and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, but others versions soon to join the range include a petrol manual, a 200hp diesel with optional four-wheel drive, and a 245hp plug-in hybrid.
