Skoda Kodiaqs join Northern Irish police fleet

Date: 13 November 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has added 50 Skoda Kodiaq SUVs to its fleet.

The vehicles, in SE spec, will be used for a range of duties, including as part of the force's interceptor fleet, which targets crime involving the country's road network.

The vehicles will also be used in remote areas, where their four-wheel drive capability is expected to be an asset.

They have been supplied in black and customised with a full police livery.

The force's head of transport services Marcus Belshaw said: "The introduction of the new Skoda Kodiaq models will bolster our policing presence and visibility across the country.

"Our officers work tirelessly to protect the public across all areas of our community and the addition of these vehicles means that they can continue to do this effectively and safely."

In addition to the 50 Kodiaqs, the force has also added five new Skoda Superbs to its fleet.
