Date: 16 October 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Volkswagen has added new engine options to its Arteon range.

The newly-facelifted model, available as a fastback or as a new Shooting Brake estate variant, can now be ordered with a 1.5-litre, 150hp petrol engine, and a 2.0-litre, 200hp diesel.

The new petrol engine comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, and depending on spec will achieve a WLTP combined fuel economy figure of up to 44.8mpg with the fastback, and up to 44.1mpg with the Shooting Brake, while respective CO2 emissions figures start from 142g/km and 145g/km.

The new diesel engine comes with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, and is available with either front- or all-wheel drive.

Fuel economy figures are up to 54.3mpg with the fastback, and up to 53.3mpg with the Shooting Brake, with respective CO2 emissions figures from 137g/km and 139g/km.

The new engines join the existing 150hp diesel and 190hp petrol engines in the range, for which orders opened last month.

Prices for the new 150hp petrol engine start from £31,965 for an SE Nav fastback - also the new overall entry point for the Arteon range - while prices for the new 200hp diesel start from £39,495 for an Elegance fastback.
