Orders open for Seat Leon plug-in hybrid

Date: 14 October 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The plug-in hybrid version of Seat's new Leon lower-medium car is now available to order.

Badged the E-Hybrid, the manufacturer's first ever plug-in hybrid model pairs a 1.4-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, for a combined output of 204hp.

A 13kWh battery pack allows an electric driving range of up to 36 miles, and can be fully recharged via a 3.6kW AC inlet in less than four hours.

Official fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 217.3-235.4mpg, and from 27g/km.

Available equipment grades are FR, FR Sport, Xcellence, Xcellence Lux, and First Edition, and prices start from £30,970.

Seat has also added a new mild hybrid petrol engine to the Leon range - a 1.0-litre, 110hp unit with a 48V system that allows the car to coast with the engine off, and assists the engine during acceleration.

Prices for Leons with this powertrain start from £22,720.
