Full UK specs and prices announced for new, electric Fiat 500

Date: 23 October 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Fiat has confirmed full UK range details for its new, fully-electric 500 city car.

Available as either a hatchback or cabriolet, it comes in four equipment grades, with Action (hatch only), Passion and Icon joining the range-topping La Prima version which was announced earlier this year.

Action models come with a 93hp electric motor and a 24kWh battery, while the rest of the range gets a 118hp motor and 42kWh battery.

On the WLTP cycle, driving range is 115 miles with the 24kWh battery, and 186-199 miles with the 42kWh battery.

Standard equipment with Action includes a smartphone cradle, in which drivers are invited to place their phone for infotainment purposes, along with a 7in driver information display, keyless go, rear parking sensors, and an electric parking brake.

Standard safety systems include autonomous emergency braking, drowsy driver detection, lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition.

Stepping up to Passion grade adds equipment including LED daytime running lights, a 7in touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, DAB radio, a 'Hey Fiat' voice control system, cruise control, and climate control.

The Icon grade increases the size of the touchscreen to 10.25in, also adding sat-nav, and also features 16in alloy wheels, hands-free entry, and a wearable key.

Prices for the new 500 hatchback, including the UK Government's plug-in car grant, start at £19,995 with the Action equipment grade, and rise through £23,495 for Passion, £24,995 for Icon, and £26,995 for La Prima.

Cabriolets are priced at £26,145 for Passion, £27,645 for Icon, and £29,995 for La Prima.

Orders will open in December.
