Mitsubishi Shogun Sports join Heathrow Airport fleet

Date: 09 October 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Five Mitsubishi Shogun Sport SUVs have been delivered for use by Heathrow Airport's landside operations team.

The vehicles were built to the bespoke specification requested by the team, which manages and maintains the airport's road network, at the Mitsubishi Specialist Vehicle Operations centre in Cirencester.

This includes reflective exterior decals, an amber lighting system on the roof, front grille and rear of the vehicles, and a rear-mounted LED public safety messaging system.

Heathrow's bespoke communications equipment has been fitted to the interior, along with rear racking for tools and equipment for use in the assistance and recovery of stricken vehicles.

Mitsubishi says that having the conversion work done by its centre in Cirencester meant a quick turnaround, and also means it will have the technical understanding and swift access to replacement parts to ensure any downtime is kept to a minimum.
