New Suzuki Swace estate car unveiled

Date: 15 September 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Suzuki is set to introduce a new model, in the form of the Swace estate.

It is the second model to be announced from a new collaboration with Toyota, and closely resembles the estate version of the Corolla lower-medium car.

The Swace is powered by a hybrid powertrain also seen in the Corolla, pairing a 1.8-litre, 98hp petrol engine with a 53kW electric motor, offering CO2 emissions from 99g/km on the WLTP cycle.

The Swace's boot measures 596 litres, and can be expanded with fully flat-folding rear seats.

The interior features an 8in multimedia screen, with DAB, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

Other available features include wireless smartphone charging, two USB ports, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats and air conditioning.

Available driver assistance systems include parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking, lane trace assist, road sign assist, radar cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

Sales are due to start in Europe this winter. UK specs will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
