Prices announced for new Skoda Octavia mild hybrid

Skoda has confirmed UK prices for the new mild hybrid version of its Octavia lower-medium car.
Badged e-TEC, it will be available with two equipment grades - SE First Edition and SE Technology, and as either a hatch or an estate.
Prices are £23,005 for an SE First Edition hatch, £23,255 for an SE First Edition Technology, £23,985 for an SE First Edition estate, and £24,235 for an SE Technology estate.
The powertrain features a 110hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine, with a 48V hybrid system which allows the car to coast with the engine off for extended periods, and can also support the engine with a power boost using energy recovered during braking.
Seven-speed DSG automatic transmission is standard.
On the WLTP cycle, CO2 emissions are 115g/km with the hatch, and 118g/km with the estate.
Orders for the Octavia e-TEC will open on 22 September.
A plug-in hybrid Octavia is also due to join the range at a later date.
