New-look Hyundai i30 specs and prices announced

Date: 24 September 2020   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Specs and prices have been confirmed for the new facelifted version of Hyundai's i30 lower-medium car.

The model, available in hatchback, Tourer estate or fastback bodystyles, now comes with a choice of three 48V mild hybrid engines - a 1.0-litre, 120hp petrol; a 1.6-litre, 136hp diesel; and a 1.5-litre, 159hp petrol.

Depending on spec, each engine is available with six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.

With the hatchback, CO2 emissions on the WLTP cycle are from 120g/km with the 120hp petrol, 121g/km with the diesel, and 122g/km with the 159hp petrol, with the exact figure depending on gearbox and vehicle spec.

Styling changes compared with the outgoing i30 include new, slimmer headlights and V-shaped daytime running lights, and a new rear bumper.

Hyundai says the outgoing model's three base equipment grades have been replaced by one, SE Connect. Standard equipment with this includes 16in alloy wheels, automatic headlights, an 8in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, air conditioning, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

Stepping up to Premium grade adds kit including 17in alloys, LED headlights and tail lights, privacy glass, a 7in driver information display, a 10.25in touchscreen with sat-nav and Bluelink telematics, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and steering wheel, front parking sensors, wireless phone charging and keyless entry.

The sporty N Line equipment grade then adds N Line bodykit and interior styling features, 18in alloy wheels, and an automatic windscreen de-fogging system.

Standard safety features with the facelifted i30 include lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking with front collision avoidance assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, while optional features include lane following assist, rear collision avoidance assist, leading vehicle departure alert, intelligent speed limit warning and blind spot collision warning.

Prices for the revised i30 range start at £20,695, for a 120hp petrol manual SE Connect hatch, and rise as high as £27,225 for a diesel auto Premium Tourer.
