Citroen has confirmed prices and specs for the new version of its lower-medium C4, including the E-C4 electric version.

The models are available to order now, with the first deliveries expected in early 2021.

The E-C4 features a 136hp motor and a 50kWh battery pack, and has a driving range of up to 217 miles on a single charge.

The regular C4 launches with 130hp petrol and diesel engines available, with a 100hp petrol, a 155hp petrol and a 110hp diesel also set to join the range early next year.

Official CO2 emissions figures are from 120g/km for the 130hp petrol and 119g/km for the 130hp diesel, with slight variations depending on spec, while preliminary figures are from 122g/km for the 100hp petrol, 133g/km for the 155hp petrol, and 114g/km for the 110hp diesel.

The new C4 is available with a choice of Sense, Sense Plus, Shine, and Shine Plus equipment grades, with all but Sense also applicable to the E-C4.

Standard equipment with Sense includes hydraulic suspension, 'advanced comfort' seats, LED headlights, a 10in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors and dual-zone climate control.

Further equipment with Sense Plus includes a head-up display, sat-nav, a rear parking camera and electric door mirrors.

Stepping up to the Shine grade adds features including adaptive cruise control, active blind spot detection, keyless entry and start, automatic high beam headlights, and front parking sensors.

Range-topping Shine Plus adds equipment such as a premium stereo system, the camera-based highway driver assist system, and wireless smartphone charging.

Prices for the regular C4 start at £20,990 for a 100hp petrol Sense manual, and rise as high as £28,240 for a 130hp diesel Shine Plus auto.

Prices for the E-C4, including the UK Government's plug-in car grant, start at £29,180 for a Sense Plus model, and rise as high as £31,330 for a Shine Plus.
