Drivetech becomes AFP member

Driver training firm Drivetech has joined the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP).
The company says the decision has been influenced by factors such as the rapid rate of change in the fleet industry, and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Head of marketing Colin Paterson said Drivetech thought the pandemic had made co-operation and collaboration across the sector more important than ever before.
He said: "Becoming a member of the AFP makes absolute sense for Drivetech at this moment in time.
"We pride ourselves on taking a lead position within the fleet driver risk management market and wish to lend our voice to the organisation's activities.
"By working with other organisations across fleet, we believe that we can more effectively handle the many issues that we, as an industry, are facing at this moment in time."
Alongside Drivetech's new membership, Emma Loveday, the firm's commercial development manager, has become a member of the AFP's committee on risk, compliance and health.
Paterson said: "We are keen to not only contribute to the AFP at a member level but to lend our expertise in areas where we have what we believe to be market-leading knowledge, contributing towards important debates on policies and action surrounding occupational travel risk, driver health and wellbeing and corporate compliance.
"Emma is very much looking forward to becoming involved at a committee level."
The AFP was formed in March from the merger of Acfo and ICFM, and says it has seen strong interest from new members.
AFP chair Paul Hollick said: "Since March, we've had over 75 new members come on board who had no links with ACFO or the ICFM and we are very pleased to see that Drivetech is one of them.
"They have an excellent reputation across the fleet sector for their risk management expertise.
"Our intention in forming the AFP was very much to create a forum where the fleet sector could speak with one voice, and many companies want to be part of that project."
