Toyota has confirmed specs and prices for its new small SUV, the Yaris Cross.

The range in the UK will consist of four regular equipment grades - Icon, Design, Dynamic, and Excel - plus a Premiere Edition model which will be available for one year after the model's launch.

Standard equipment with the entry-level Icon grade will include 16in alloy wheels, an 8in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 2in multi-information display, keyless entry and start, a reversing camera, automatic air conditioning, and automatic lights and wipers.

Also standard will be the Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection and emergency steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, lane trace assist, road sign assist, and automatic high-beam.

Further equipment with the Design equipment grade will include 17in alloy wheels, LED projector headlights, LED rear lights and sequential indicators, light blue ambient cabin lighting, aluminium roof rails, black headlining, a 7in multi-information display, and rear privacy glass.

The Dynamic and Excel grades are billed as being part of a dual high-grade strategy, and standard equipment with both will include 18in alloy wheels (with different designs), a 9in infotainment screen, auto-retracting door mirrors, driver's seat powered lumbar adjustment, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning.

In addition, the Dynamic grade will come with a bi-tone paint finish with a black roof, while the Excel grade will come with a power tailgate with kick-sensor, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert with emergency brake, intelligent parking sensors with clearance sonar and automatic braking, and a heated steering wheel.

Extra features of the Premiere Edition grade will include black leather seat upholstery, a JBL eight-speaker premium sound system, and a 10in colour head-up display.

Front-wheel drive will be standard with the Icon, Design, and Excel grades, while the Dynamic and Premiere Edition grades will come with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Prices are £22,515 for an Icon model, £24,140 for Design, £26,745 for Excel, £26,465 for a front-wheel drive Dynamic, £28,825 for an all-wheel drive Dynamic, £28,185 for a front-wheel drive Premiere Edition, and £30,545 for an all-wheel drive Premiere Edition.

Pre-sales will begin on 4 May, with the first deliveries in September.
