Updated Volkswagen Polo unveiled

Volkswagen has revealed a newly-revised version of its Polo supermini.

Exterior design changes include a new full-width lighting strip along the front grille, as previously seen with other recent VWs, and a revised rear light cluster.

Following the update, LED headlights and tail lights will be standard throughout the range, as will an 8in Digital Cockpit driver display.

In addition, the IQ Drive travel assist system, which combines predictive adaptive cruise control and lane assist, will be newly available.

A revamped range structure will now start in the UK with the Life equipment grade, other standard equipment with which will include a central airbag, air conditioning, a 6.5in infotainment screen, App-Connect, a centre armrest with additional USB-C port ,electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, 15in wheels, and leather trim on the steering wheel and gear knob.

Style and R-Line grades sit together at the top of the range, and standard equipment with both includes LED matrix headlights (new to the Polo range), LED fog lights, and an 8in infotainment screen with wireless App-Connect.

Further equipment with the Style grade includes chrome-look front end crossbars, 15in alloy wheels, park distance control, and a 10.25in Digital Cockpit Pro driver display.

R-Line cars get sportier styling features such as emphasised front bumper details and a rear diffuser in high-gloss black, chrome-look integrated exhaust panels, and 16in alloy wheels.

Prices are yet to be announced.
