Date: 16 December 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Cupra has announced specs and prices for the Born, its new electric hatchback.

At launch a single powertrain option will be available, pairing a 204hp electric motor with a 58kWh battery, offering an estimated driving range of up to 263 miles on the WLTP cycle.

Three further powertrain options will subsequently join the line-up, comprising a 150hp motor with a 45kWh battery, and a 231hp motor with either a 58kWh battery or a 77kWh battery.

There's a choice of three equipment grades - V1, V2, and V3.

Standard equipment with V1 spec includes 18in alloy wheels, full LED headlights and tail lights, a 12in infotainment touchscreen with sat-nav, a 5.3in digital cockpit display, a leather heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, a rear view camera, front and rear park distance control, lane assist, and emergency steering support with turn assist.

Further equipment with V2 spec includes 19in alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows, heated washer nozzles, an augmented reality head-up display, and heated front seats.

In addition, range-topping V3 spec comes with 20in alloy wheels, and 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with a massage function.

Prices for the Born with the launch powertrain start at £33,735 for a V1, and rise to £34,190 for a V2 and £37,375 for a V3.

The first deliveries are expected towards the end of Q1 next year.
