New Kia Sportage specs and prices announced

Kia has revealed UK specs and prices for the new, fifth-generation version of its Sportage SUV.

Engine options include a 150hp petrol (also available as a mild hybrid), a 115hp diesel, a 136hp mild hybrid diesel, a 229hp petrol hybrid, and a 265hp petrol plug-in hybrid, with the latter joining the range during Q1 2022.

Transmission options are six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic, and there is a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on spec.

The new Sportage range comprises 2, GT-Line, 3, 4, and GT-Line S equipment grades. 

Standard equipment with 2 spec includes 17in alloy wheels, LED headlights and DRLs, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, an 8in touchscreen, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, electrically folding adjustable and heated door mirrors, automatic lights and wipers, autonomous emergency braking, lane follow assist, lane keep assist, intelligent speed limit assist, and hill start assist.

Further equipment with GT-Line spec, in addition to sportier styling features, includes 19in alloy wheels (18in with hybrid), a 12.3in touchscreen with sat-nav, rear privacy glass, a smart entry system, leather steering wheel, and LED front fog lights and tail lights.

3 spec misses out on the GT-Line styling features, and comes with 18in alloy wheels, but also gainst other equipment including a 12.3in driver display, heated front and outer rear seats, a heated steering wheel, smart cruise control with stop and go function and highway assist (automatic gearbox models only), and power-adjustable front seats.

Further equipment with 4 spec includes a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot view monitor, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, parking collision avoidance assist, remote smart parking assist (hybrid and PHEV models only), dual LED headlights, and ambient lighting.

Further features with the range-topping GT-Line S grade include ventilated front seats, 10-way driver's and eight-way front passenger's powered seat adjustment, and a smart power tailgate. 

Prices for the new Sportage start at £26,745 for a 2 petrol manual, and rise as high as £43,795 for a GT-Line S plug-in hybrid.

Orders will open on 15 December, with the first deliveries in the first quarter of 2022.
