Skoda Enyaq iV gets upgraded DC fast charging as standard

Date: 02 December 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Skoda has added upgraded DC fast charging capability to its electric Enyaq iV range.

Previously, both Enyaq iV 60 and 80 models could charge at up to 50kW as standard, whereas now they are capable of charging at up to 120kW and 125kW respectively.

This means that the time taken for an 80% charge of a 60 model can be reduced from 55 minutes to 35 minutes with a compatible charger, while for the 80 the time is reduced from 70 minutes to 38 minutes.

According to Skoda, the upgrade has been carried out as while most UK public DC rapid chargers have a 50kW output, a new generation is faster chargers is now being installed.

All Enyaq iV models can charge at any rapid charger equipped with an industry-standard CCS connection.
