New Mercedes-Benz C-Class unveiled with all-hybrid engine line-up

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its new C-Class saloon and estate.
For the first time, the latest-generation model comes with all electrified powertrains, with a full range of petrol and diesel mild hybrids, and plug-in hybrids to follow soon after launch.
Available mild hybrid petrol engines produce 170hp, 204hp, and 258hp, while the diesels produce 200hp and 265hp.
Preliminary WLTP CO2 emissions figures are from 141g/km for the 170hp petrol, 143g/km for the 204hp petrol, 150g/km for the 258hp petrol, 130g/km for the 200hp diesel, and 135g/km for the 265hp diesel.
The plug-in hybrids will feature a 129hp electric motor, paired with either a petrol or diesel engine, and Mercedes says it will have an electric driving range of around 62 miles on the WLTP cycle.
Compared with the outgoing car, Mercedes says rear-seat passengers benefit from more elbow room, knee room and headroom, while there's also more elbow room up front.
The interior features the second-generation version of Mercedes's MBUX infotainment system, operated via a 9.5in or 11.9in touchscreen, or via 'Hey Mercedes' voice control. A driver display screen measures 10.25in or 12.3in.
The new C-Class will open for orders on 30 March, and will arrive in showrooms in the summer. Prices are yet to be announced.
