New Webfleet Video service integrates video telematics with fleet management

Date: 26 January 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Webfleet Solutions and Lytx have teamed up to offer an integrated video telematics and fleet management service.

Webfleet Video integrates Lytx camera technology with Webfleet's telematics-based fleet management system, allowing users to manage both vehicles and cameras from a single interface.

By combining vehicle and driving data with Lytx's machine vision and AI camera technology, it is said to give users the full context of how their fleet is operating on the road, and by giving them more insight into critical incidents, help them to prevent accidents.

Webfleet already provides driver behaviour insights and real-time feedback for events such as idling or harsh braking, but with the addition of camera technology, fleet managers can now gain a better understanding of why such events occur.

Webfleet Solutions Europe vice president Taco van der Leij said: "We are convinced that Lytx, the leading company in video telematics, is the right partner to introduce our fully integrated video solution in Webfleet.

"Together, we can better meet the needs of the fleets we serve, with increased safety and efficiency.

"Webfleet Video will also provide clear evidence in the event of road traffic incidents. This helps protects drivers against fraudulent claims, while also helping companies to avoid lengthy legal proceedings."

Lytx Europe vice president Damian Penney said: "We are excited to combine our expertise to equip many more customers worldwide with best-in-class solutions.

"Many fleet managers today leverage more than one technology, which can be a lot to juggle. Finding opportunities to consolidate is crucial.

"Through this integration, customers will be able to seamlessly access industry-leading video-based driver behaviour and fleet management insights."
