Date: 27 July 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Renault has confirmed prices for the hatchback version of its Megane Plug-In Hybrid.

The model, which joins the PHEV Megane Sport Tourer estate in the range, features a 9.8kWh battery, allowing an electric driving range of up to 30 miles on the official WLTP cycle, while a full battery charge is possible in three hours using a Type 2 charger.

The powertrain features a 1.6-litre petrol engine and two electric motors, producing a combined 160hp, with WLTP fuel economy of 235.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 28g/km.

Two equipment grades will be available - Iconic and R.S. Line.

Standard equipment with Iconic grade will include 16in alloy wheels, an electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist, cruise control with speed limiter, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, automatic high/low beam, a hands-free keycard, a 10in TFT driver display, 7in touchscreen sat-nav with smartphone connectivity, and selectable drive modes.

Further equipment with R.S. Line will include 17in alloy wheels, front and rear R.S. Line bumpers, advanced emergency braking, a rear parking camera, hands-free parking, and a 9.3in touchscreen.

Prices will start at £29,495 for Iconic spec, and rise to £31,495 for an R.S. Line. Orders will open in August, with the first UK deliveries due in September.
