New Peugeot 308 specs and prices confirmed

Peugeot has announced UK specs and prices for the new-generation version of its 308 lower-medium car.

The UK range consists of five equipment grades - Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, GT, and GT Premium.

Standard kit with entry-level Active Premium spec includes 16in alloy wheels, 'eco' LED headlights, LED DRLs and rear lights, automatic windscreen wipers, a 10in digital instrument display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, and rear parking sensors.

Extra equipment with Allure spec includes 17in alloy wheels, sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree reversing camera, and autonomous emergency braking.

Stepping up to Allure Premium spec adds features including wireless smartphone charging and connectivity, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and active blind spot detection.

Further features of GT spec include 18in alloy wheels, full matrix LED headlights, a cabin air cleaning system, and a heated steering wheels, while range-topping GT Premium spec comes with further features including a Focal premium audio system, a massaging driver's seat, semi-autonomous lane assist, semi-autonomous park assist and a 360-degree camera.

As previously announced, the new 308 is being offered with a choice of two plug-in hybrid powertrains, producing 180hp and 225hp, with both capable of driving up to 39 miles on battery power alone on the WLTP cycle, and CO2 emissions of between 25-27g/km depending on spec.

Other engine options are a 130hp petrol, with CO2 emissions of 128-131g/km, and a 130hp diesel, with CO2 emissions of 117-121g/km.

Eight-speed automatic transmission is standard throughout the range.

Prices start at £24,000 for a 130hp petrol Active Premium, and rise as high as £38,800 for a 225hp plug-in hybrid GT Premium.

The first new 308s are expected to arrive in UK showrooms in December.
