Volkswagen ID3 price cuts announced

Date: 02 July 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Volkswagen has announced price reductions for several equipment grades in its ID3 electric car range, making some of them eligible for the UK Government's plug-in car grant.

The manufacturer has cut the price of the ID3 Family Pro and Family Pro performance to £33,640 and £34,960 respectively, bringing them under the £35,000 threshold for the £3,500 grant, meaning the prices in turn fall to £31,140 and £32,460 with the grant applied.

This means a total of six grades in the ID3 range are now grant eligible.

VW has also announced price drops for the higher-spec ID3 Max and Tour models, both by £3,800 to £37,730 and £38,800 respectively, although these prices still remain over the grant threshold.

Other range alterations include the City equipment grade being renamed Life, while the Business and Tech grades have been discontinued.

VW has also made changes to the ordering process for the ID3 and also the ID4 electric SUV, which it says give customers more flexibility to add option packs on top of standard equipment levels.
