The start point for the best source of fleet information

Drive launches EV transition planning product

Date: 04 March 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new product aiming to help fleets through a transition to EVs has been launched by Drive Software Solutions.

The ODO Transition Planning product has been developed with Masternaut to show fleet managers which vehicles they can switch to EVs and when, and the best electric models to adopt.

Rather than generic range data, the system uses real fleet data such as route planning and driver behaviour to recommend an optimal plan.

It includes a readiness assessment tool, which involves a two-month analysis of driving data using plug-in telematics, followed by a consultation call and personalised report.

Then a transition planning tool covers insights such as in-depth EV comparison, TCO comparison, charge point planning and CO2 emissions tracking.

Finally, ODO and Masternaut allow fleets to manage their EVs once they are on-fleet, understanding their performance and energy usage and getting reports on topics such as energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Drive chief commercial officer Robert Gorby said: "Businesses have been telling us that they need to prevent range anxiety amongst their drivers, get a better understanding of real EV performance and be able to see everything in one place.

"This partnership and proposition delivers on all counts and we are looking forward to enabling the industry to accelerate the transition to greener fleets."

Masternaut European sales director Jason Gill said: "We're extremely excited about this partnership with ODO. It will enable leasing brokers and their customers to accelerate their transition to greener fleets.

"The only way to transition effectively to EVs is by using real fleet data and insights. This solution takes the guesswork out of transition planning for businesses; giving them the confidence that they are making the right decisions at the right time for the right vehicle."
