New Hyundai Bayon SUV revealed

Date: 02 March 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has unveiled the Bayon, a new model it says will become the smallest SUV in its range.

The new B-segment model has been designed specifically for Europe. It measures 4,180mm long, 1,775mm wide, and 1,490mm tall, and has a 411-litre boot.

The model will come with a 1.0-litre, mild hybrid petrol engine, producing 100hp or 120hp, with either six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

The interior will feature either 8in or 10.25in infotainment screens with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity - a wireless feature with the 8in screen - along with a 10.25in digital instrument cluster. Also available will be a Bose stereo and wireless phone charging.

The Bayon will come with Hyundai's Bluelink connected car services, including new calendar integration allowing the car to take appointment information from the driver's phone, and even send address details to the sat-nav.

Other Bluelink features include live parking info, remote locking and unlocking, online voice recognition, and remote maintenance information.

Available driver assistance features will include lane keep and lane follow assist, intelligent speed limit assist, high beam assist, and forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection and junction turning.

Also available will be driver attention warning, leading vehicle departure alert, rear occupant alert, blind-spot collision warning, and rear cross traffic collision avoidance warning.

Prices and full specs are yet to be announced.
