Peugeot announces E-2008 price cut with eye on plug-in grant

Date: 25 March 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Peugeot has introduced price reductions for its E-2008 electric car.

The price of each model in the range has come down by £450, meaning entry-level Active Premium spec now costs £33,230, Allure costs £34,430, Allure Premium costs £34,880, GT costs £37,180, and range-topping GT Premium costs £39,180.

The reduction means that the mid-range Allure Premium grade remains eligible for the UK Government's plug-in car grant, the threshold for which was reduced to £35,000 last week.

The grant reduces the prices quoted above for Active Premium, Allure, and Allure Premium cars by £2,500. However, GT and GT Premium cars are no longer eligible.

Peugeot is the latest Stellantis brand to announce a grant-related EV price cut, following on from Citroën and Vauxhall.

In addition, Peugeot says it has applied a £500 saving to personal and business contract hire agreements for its E-208 electric supermini.
