The start point for the best source of fleet information

New Hey Google variants join Fiat 500 ranges

Date: 31 March 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Fiat is making new versions of its 500 city car, 500X SUV, and 500L MPV available with Google voice assistant technology.

The new Hey Google-badged cars allow drivers to connect to their vehicle remotely, using their smartphone, or a Google Nest Hub digital display included with the car.

The driver can ask for information including the car's location, how much fuel it has, and the location of the nearest workshop.

The system also interacts with the onboard Fiat Mopar Connect telematics box, allowing it to monitor journeys made - a system also available to fleet managers.

The Hey Google cars can be distinguished by contrast white paint and gloss black roof and mirror caps (other colours are also available), a Hey Google badge featuring the Google logo on the wheel arches, central pillars featuring multicoloured 'molecules' from the Hey Google logo, and Hey Google embroidering on the seats. A Hey Google animation also appears when the infotainment system is switched on.

Standard equipment with the 500 Hey Google, available as a hatchback or convertible, includes 15in alloy wheels, a 7in DAB radio screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, while power comes from a 70hp hybrid engine.

The 500X Hey Google features 17in alloys, fog lights, blacked-out rear windows, a 7in HD touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and rain and dusk sensors, while engine options are 120hp and 150hp petrols.

The 500L Hey Google gets 16in alloys, the 7in HD touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, air conditioning, and rear parking sensors, and comes with a 95hp petrol engine.

Prices for the Hey Google models are £16,005 for the 500 hatchback, £18,655 for the 500 convertible, £21,765 for the 120hp 500X, £24,265 for the 150hp 500X, and £20,345 for the 500L. Orders will open in mid-April.
