Enterprise adds new EVs to rental fleet in Scotland

Date: 19 May 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has added 30 new electric Renault Zoes to its rental fleet in Scotland.

The cars are based at branches in Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen, and are already said to have won custom from a number of organisations including Police Scotland.

Enterprise said it was seeing growing demand for its electric fleet from both rental and car club customers across the UK.

It said an analysis of user data showed that while the majority of renters drove for fewer than 50 miles when they used an EV, many were regular users and happy to drive an EV for 100 miles or more per day.

Enterprise Scotland general manager Diane Mulholland said: "We see rental as a way of facilitating change because it enables people to try out zero-emission EVs for a short period of time.

"We will be using our new Zoe fleet to ensure our employees are familiar with EV technology and act as experts to help customers understand the benefits of these vehicles and overcome any concerns they may have.

"We are planning to encourage all our customers to try EVs. That means replacement customers who get a car from their insurance company when their vehicle is being repaired will have an EV option, as well as our business and leisure customers as lockdown eases."
