New Skoda Fabia revealed

Date: 05 May 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Skoda has unveiled the latest version of its Fabia supermini.

The new, fourth-generation model is moving onto the VW Group's MQB-A0 platform, shared with cars including the current Volkswagen Polo, Seat Ibiza and Audi A1.

The new Fabia is 111mm longer than the outgoing model, 48mm wider, and has a 94mm longer wheelbase, which Skoda says means increased interior space.

The new Fabia also gains 50 litres of boot space, with a total of 380 litres now on offer.

Skoda says the new model is more aerodynamic, improving efficiency, and features new, automatically adjusting cooling shutters on the front bumper, which can reduce drag and save up to 0.2 litres of fuel per 62 miles.

New new Fabia's interior features a central free-standing infotainment display measuring up to 9.2in, and a 10.25in digital instrument cluster will also be available, as will dual-zone climate control.

Newly-available driver assistance features include Travel Assist - which combines adaptive cruise control and lane assist - Park Assist and Manoeuvre Assist.

Five petrol engines will be available, with power outputs ranging from 65hp to 150hp.

At launch, there will be a choice of S, SE, and SE L equipment grades, with a Monte Carlo variant following later.

UK prices and specs are yet to be announced.
