Centrica introduces EV salary sacrifice scheme

Date: 15 November 2021   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Energy company Centrica has introduced a new salary sacrifice scheme offering electric cars to its employees.

The firm - parent company of British Gas - has launched the scheme in partnership with Leaseplan.

More than 100 EVs have been ordered through the scheme since it launched less than two weeks ago, with models chosen including the Volkswagen ID.3 and Audi Q4.

Employees who sign up to the scheme are offered a bundled deal including a car, charger installation, servicing, insurance, and maintenance.

The scheme follows on from Centrica's ongoing electric van deployment, with nearly 700 Vauxhall Vivaro-E vans already on the road, and more than 3,000 due for delivery by the end of next year, with the company committed to a fully-electric operational fleet by 2025.

Centrica head of fleet Steve Winter said: "Centrica is committed to offering colleagues and customers sustainable choices for their homes and transport.

"We have the people, infrastructure and skills to lead the transition to net zero transportation and offering colleagues in the UK an electric car lease with a British Gas charge point installation is a big step towards supporting customers and colleagues to live more sustainably."
