Orders open for more powerful Cupra Born variants

Date: 01 April 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Cupra has opened orders for the more powerful e-Boost versions of its new Born EV.

The e-Boost powertrain features a 230hp electric motor, paired with either a 58kWh or 77kWh battery.

These join the entry-level, 204hp 58kWh version of the Born, for which orders opened late last year.

The 58kWh e-Boost has an estimated range of 224-261 miles on the WLTP cycle, while the 77kWh version has an estimated range of 305-340 miles.

The 58kWh battery can be fully charged in six hours 15 minutes using an 11kW AC wall charger, or from 5-80% using a 120kW DC rapid charger in 35 minutes.

A full 11kW AC charge for the 77kWh battery takes seven hours 30 minutes, while a 5-80% 135kW DC charge takes 36 minutes.

Both e-Boost options are available with either the mid-range V2 or top-spec V3 equipment grades.

Prices are £37,445 for a 58kWh V2, £39,195 for a 58kWh V3, £40,215 for a 77kWh V2, and £41,975 for a 77kWh V3.
