MG has added a new entry-level version to its ZS EV line-up.
The new Standard Range model has a maximum range on a single battery charge of 198 miles, compared with 273 miles for the existing Long Range variant.
The Standard Range version features a 51.1kWh battery, which can be charged from 10%-80% in 36 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger. MG has pointed out that its range is still 35 miles longer than that offered by the ZS before it was facelifted last year
Equipment grades are the same as those offered with the Long Range - SE, Trophy, and Trophy Connect - but prices for the Standard Range are £2,000 cheaper.
Standard Range prices start at £27,495, including the UK Government's plug-in grant.
The first UK deliveries of Standard Range cars are expected this month.
