The start point for the best source of fleet information

Trakm8 targets grey fleets with new telematics device

Date: 18 February 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new telematics device aimed at operators of mixed and grey fleets has been launched by Trakm8.

The new Connect 430 S is designed to move easily from vehicle to vehicle, with the self-fit device connecting to a vehicle's OBD port via a ribbon cable.

It provides fleet managers with insights into driver behaviour and vehicle status, alongside GPS location data, and also provides real-time driver feedback, including alerts regarding speeding, harsh driving events such as braking, cornering or acceleration, and excessive idling.

Trakm8's online portal allows managers to access the data, and helps to identify driver training opportunities.

Trakm8 channel sales director Chris Horbowyj said: "This innovative device provides users with a significant amount of vital vehicle information, helping drivers to optimise their time and bolstering fleet productivity. This reduces overheads by eliminating downtime and giving fleets the opportunity to be more fuel conscious.

"The data gathered by the device can also help strengthen fleets, as it provides information that will help fleet managers plan training by identifying areas of improvement.

"The ease of installation means the device can be simply plugged in without the costliness of an engineer. It's particularly beneficial for grey fleets that need maximum flexibility.

"The C430 S device is designed as a solution for fleets that are becoming increasingly reactive as ways of working continue to differ from traditional approaches."
