Updated DS 7 gains new plug-in hybrid powertrain

Date: 28 June 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A newly-facelifted version of the DS 7 SUV has been revealed.

The updated model, formerly known as the DS 7 Crossback, will be available with a choice of three plug-in hybrid powertrains, including a new range-topping 360hp variant.

This four-wheel drive model features front and rear electric motors producing 110hp and 112hp respectively, along with a 200hp petrol engine, and comes in conjunction with a lowered chassis, wider track and uprated brakes. A 14.2kWh battery allows a range of up to 40 miles on the official WLTP mixed cycle.

As before, other powertrain options include 225hp and 300hp plug-in hybrids, and a 130hp diesel will also be available.

Exterior design changes with the updated DS 7 include a redesigned front end with slimmer LED pixel headlights and a larger grille.

Inside, there's a redesigned 12in touchscreen running the DS Iris infotainment system, with what is described as natural voice recognition, and a new 12in digital instrument panel.

Orders for the facelifted DS 7 will open during August, with the first models due to arrive at showrooms during September. Prices are yet to be announced.
