Facelifted BMW 3 Series revealed

Date: 19 May 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

BMW has unveiled a newly-revised version of its 3 Series.

Perhaps the most significant change to the facelifted model, which comes in saloon and Touring estate bodystyles, is to the interior, which now features BMW's Curved Display set-up, featuring a 12.3in driver information display and a 14.9in infotainment screen merged into a single unit. This runs the latest BMW Operating System 8, said to feature improved voice control.

The interior also features new, slimmer air vents, operated via standard three-zone climate control. Other new standard features include an auto-dimming rear mirror, park distance control with front and rear sensors, and BMW Live Cockpit Plus with BMW Maps sat-nav.

Exterior design changes include a revised radiator grille and slimmer headlights.

Six engine options are available, including 184hp, 258hp, and 374hp petrols, 190hp and 340hp mild hybrid diesels, and a 292hp plug-in hybrid. Provisional CO2 emissions figures are from 145g/km for the 184hp petrol, 148g/km for the 259hp petrol, 177g/km for the 374hp petrol, 127g/km for the 190hp diesel, 153g/km for the 340hp diesel, and 30g/km for the plug-in hybrid.

Eight-speed automatic transmission is now standard throughout the range.

Production of the updated 3 Series will begin in July. Orders are open now, with prices starting at £36,670.
