Citroen increases electric range of C5 Aircross and C5 X plug-in hybrids

Date: 07 November 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Citroen has announced increases to the electric driving range of its C5 Aircross and C5 X plug-in hybrids.

The change to the C5 Aircross is particularly significant, since the range has increased from 39 to 41 miles under official WLTP combined testing, meaning the model's BIK company car tax liability drops from 12% to 8%.

This is because of a bigger battery pack, up from 13.2kWh to 14.2kWh, which also means official CO2 emissions of 29g/km.

As for the C5 X PHEV, although the battery pack is unchanged, a witch-over to the Euro 6.4 standard improves the battery's minimum charge threshold. This increases the vehicle's electric-only range from 34 to 39 miles, and reduces CO2 emissions to 27 g/km.

Prices for the C5 Aircross PHEV start at £35,935, while the C5 X PHEV starts at £36,720.
