Orders open for full Peugeot 408 range

Peugeot has fully opened UK orders for the 408, its new C-segment fastback crossover.

The launch of the full range follows the previous online-only launch of First Edition models, with the range also including Allure, Allure Premium, and GT equipment grades.

Engine options are a 130hp petrol, and 180hp and 225hp plug-in hybrids, with official CO2 emissions figures of 136g/km, 26g/km, and 26-28g/km respectively. 

All plug-in hybrids except for the First Edition version have an official electric-only range of 40 miles, thereby incurring an 8% BIK company car tax rate (the First Edition's 39-mile range means a 12% rate.

Eight-speed automatic transmission is standard throughout the range.

Standard equipment with the entry-level Allure equipment grade includes 17in alloy wheels, LED headlights with Smartbeam assist, interior ambient lighting, rear parking sensors, a 180-degree reversing camera, a 10in touchscreen with sat-nav, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 10in digital instrument panel, advanced emergency braking, and extended traffic sign recognition.

Features of Allure Premium spec include 19in alloy wheels, keyless entry and go, front parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and long-range blind spot detection.

Further features of the GT grade include a heated leather steering wheel, a 3D digital instrument panel, a Driver Sport Pack with steering, throttle and gearbox modes, and lane positioning assist.

Further equipment with the First Edition grade includes 20in alloy wheels, a ten-way electrically adjustable heated massaging driver's seat, and a six-way electrically adjustable heated massaging front passenger seat.

Range prices start at £31,050 for a petrol Allure, while plug-in hybrid prices start £38,400 for a 180hp Allure. The range-topping 225hp plug-in hybrid First Edition is priced at £45,000.

The first customer deliveries are expected in the first quarter of 2023.
