Less powerful engine options added to Cupra Leon range

Date: 05 September 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Two new petrol engine options are being added to the Cupra Leon range.

The new engines are a 150hp 1.5-litre and a 190hp 2.0-litre, bringing the model which was previously a pure hot hatch, in contrast to the more mainstream versions sold as the Seat Leon, down into warm hatch territory.

The 150hp engine is available with either manual or DSG automatic transmission, and the 190hp engine is DSG only.

In addition, a new entry-level V1 equipment grade has been announced, with standard equipment including 18in alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a 12in infotainment screen with sat-nav and smartphone integration, keyless entry and start, and predictive and adaptive cruise control.

Orders for 150hp DSG V1 models will open in early October, with the rest to follow soon after. Prices are yet to be announced.
