The new, fourth-generation version of Nissan's X-Trail large SUV has been unveiled.
It will be available with either five or seven seats, and with a fully electrified powertrain line-up, which Nissan says will make it the only electrified seven-seater in its segment.
Powertrain options will include the E-Power system which recently made its European debut with the smaller Qashqai. This features a 1.5-litre petrol engine used solely to generate power for an electric motor, which in turn drives the wheels, with a final system output of 204hp, or if the E-4orce all-wheel drive system is specced with a second electric motor, 213hp.
Alternatively, a 163hp mild hybrid petrol engine will also be available.
Available interior technology will include a 12.3in infotainment screen, with Android Auto and wireless Apple Carplay connectivity, along with a 12.3in TFT driver display, and a 10.8in head-up display. The car will also have the capability to talk to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa smart devices.
The latest-generation version of Nissan's ProPilot driver assistance system will also be available, with the ability to adjust the vehicle's speed based on road sign or sat-nav data.
The new X-Trail will be available in Visia, Acenta Premium, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+ equipment grades. Pre-orders are open now, with the first deliveries scheduled for October.
Starting prices for mild hybrid, five-seater X-Trails are £32,030 with the Visia grade, £33,705 with Acenta Premium, £36,530 with N-Connecta, £39,850 with Tekna, and £42,520 with Tekna+.
Models with the e-Power engine cost an extra £2,435, and those with the e-4orce system cost a further £2,200 on top of that, while seven-seater cars are £1,000 extra.
