Date: 30 September 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Mercedes-Benz has opened orders for the new second-generation version of its GLC SUV.

At launch, there's a choice of four powertrains - three mild hybrids, and a petrol plug-in hybrid, with a diesel plug-in hybrid following subsequently.

The mild hybrid options are 197hp and 269hp diesels, and a 258hp petrol. WLTP CO2 emissions figures are 143-141g/km, 152-150g/km, and 174-171g/km respectively.

The plug-in hybrid petrol has a total output of 313hp, while the diesel version offers 335hp. Both come with a 31.2kWh battery, allowing an electric driving range of up to 80 miles. CO2 figures have not been published.

Three equipment grades are available: AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, and AMG Line Premium Plus. Standard equipment with AMG Line spec includes 19in alloy wheels, LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist, two-zone climate control, heated front seats, MBUX infotainment with sat-nav, an 11.9in media display, a 12.3in digital instrument cluster and wireless smartphone charging.

Further equipment with AMG Line Premium spec includes 20in alloy wheels, the Mercedes Digital Light system, keyless entry and go, blind spot assist, augmented reality sat-nav, and a 360-degree parking camera.

Further features of range-topping AMG Line Premium Plus spec include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, and a head-up display.

Prices start at £51,855 for a 197hp diesel mild hybrid AMG Line, and rise as high as £72,210 for a petrol plug-in hybrid AMG Line Premium Plus.

The first UK deliveries are expected in January.
