Peugeot E-208 set for powertrain upgrade

Date: 29 September 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Peugeot's E-208 electric supermini is to receive an upgraded powertrain next year.

It will include the electric motor from the recently announced E-308 family car, taking the E-208's output from 136hp to 156hp.

In addition, usable battery capacity will increase from 46.6kWh to 48.1kWh, allowing the maximum range between charges to be increased from 225 miles to 248 miles.

The E-208 initially launched in 2019 with a 217-mile range, and this was previously increased last year with a new heat pump, more efficient tyres, and a revised transmission.

A 7.4kW onboard charger is standard, and an 11kW charger is optional. The E-208 is also compatible with up to 100kW charging from a public chargepoint, allowing a 20-80% charge in 25 minutes.
