Hyundai secures Michelin fleet deal

Date: 04 August 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has supplied ten EVs to tyre firm Michelin for use on its UK staff fleet.

Two Ioniq 5 and eight Ioniq 6 models have been delivered.

Hyundai is said to have won the business after a rigorous selection process against vehicles from other manufacturers, with Michelin said to have been impressed by the Hyundai cars' quality and value, and the manufacturers' ability to fulfil the order quickly and efficiently.

Paul Beauchamp at Hyundai retailer Motorfair, Mark Robbins from funders Holman, and Hyundai account manager Stephen Cassar worked on the deal.

Michelin UK national operations manager for services and solutions Alastair Cameron said: "Michelin has long recognised the need to develop innovative products and solutions that can reduce our impact on the environment, and in the UK we are now extending this approach to the vehicles we run on our fleet. So, we are delighted to have taken delivery of our first electric cars from Hyundai.

"The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 have deservedly picked up an array of awards and plaudits over the past couple of years, and there are no better choices for us to start our EV journey with."

Hyundai Motor UK head of fleet Tim White said: "Michelin is a company that has rightly earned a reputation across the world as a leader in its field, so we are justifiably proud that here in the UK it has decided to start transitioning its fleet to electric vehicles by choosing the award-winning Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6."
