Mercedes-Benz has opened orders for its new electric EQE SUV.

The new car - a distinct model from the existing EQE saloon - is available with electric powertrains developing either 292hp or 408hp, and driving ranges of between 324 miles and 334 miles depending on spec. DC charging is possible at speeds of up to 170kW.

Stepping up to AMG Line Premium spec, priced from £99,260, brings further equipment including 21in alloy wheels, a panoramic sliding sunroof, a Burmester surround sound system, a built-in dash cam, MBUX augmented reality sat-nav, and intelligent Parking Pilot.

Further features with AMG Line Premium Plus spec include Mercedes's Hyperscreen infotainment set-up, a head-up display, 22in alloys, and Digital Light projecting headlights.

Features of the alternative Business Class spec include a TV tuner for the Hyperscreen, an Air Balance package, and a heated steering wheel.
